I'm not sure exactly what the intention is with a "Moose Mountain Trail Connector" hike. That trail isn't noted on my Bragg Creek map, so I assumed it would be marked on the trailheads once we got out there. It was, but the connector trail was 1.7km long. Ed advised me that if I took the group on a 3.4km (round trip) hike they would throw me in the river and he would step on my head to keep me under water, so I decided I'd better use some of the other trails to come up with a longer day.

We used the moose road to get to the connector trail, which we took up to do Moose Loop, which formed the bulk of our day. When we returned, rather than using the road again we used some x-c ski trails for a total of 12.5km. That is definitely the longest I've done with my 35lb pack so far and I'm proud to say I've yet to jettison any of my extra water.

We had a very pleasant day... we listened to Laurie's knees creak all day (she insists it's her old-fashioned pack, but we know better), everyone heard my Tonsil Story, and we all had two stream-crossing adventures, one involving jumping across onto an ice bank with Isabelle catching everyone on the other side, and the other one involving climbing a couple of logs to get up on the bridge, helped along by Phil pulling everyone up with his hiking poles.

Thanks for the great day!!
