Trip Log

Notes Actions
The weather was perfect again, high twenties and sunny; it is as if the rafting Gods have looked favorably upon this event these past years. The water war began onshore before the first raft even touched the river and continued incessantly until the take-out location on the shores of Inglewood. Comments:
  • Completely worth chipping paint from my pedicure! (Angela)
  • Favorite moment: Renaye managed to steal Marc's orange hat, we got a photo of that, and he nearly lost his bucket as well. Then when no one from their boat was looking, Marc jumped in to our boat, hid on the floor until we manovered to Renaye's boat, they had no idea he was hiding in our boat, they thought we would attack and ofcourse, we said, oh no, we're taking a break, I mentioned the take out location was approaching, we wanted to be prepared, and Marc jumped up, pried his hat lose and jumped back in to the water to escape. It was the best strategy I saw to retreive the capain's hat! (Sibel)
  • When I heard that one of the boats was going to be "The Captain and Ten Eels", I wondered what they were going to do with that. Juanita did a BRILLIANT job of finding a captain's hat for Marc (next he'll be joining the Village People, who, incidentally, are still touring), and making five caps with one eel on each side. Captain and Ten Eels. Absolutely brilliant. (Rhonda)
  • - I, “Captain & 10 eels” raft, brought a new and improved WMD, (Weapon of Mass Drenching). I lost and then captured back my fashionable pink captain’s hat; Juanita talked me into wearing it LOL. At one point, in desperation, I formed an alliance with my mates on the Pirate raft and stowed away in 5-inch deep, warm foot-soupy water until close enough to surprise board the “hat-thief “ raft and regain my prized pink head-gear. The final bucket thrown was on me as I was dry and rolling up my raft at the take-out; I am certain those I drenched were thankful to this person, whoever that was. (Marc/Stripey)
