Thanks everyone for joining Michelle, Rhonda and I on our super-slow hike and your patience while Rhonda teaches the ropes of being a great coordinator.

We started out absolutely on time and everyone had company on their ride out to Canmore from the carpool. We met Belinda there who had driven out to meet us with her pooch, Oliver (my apologies if I got the name wrong Belinda!).

The hike was short but spectacular. We had a chance meeting with an interpretive ranger person who gave us warnings that bears had been spotted in the area feeding on berries. She showed us the skull of a black bear and answered lots of questions.

The views on the way up are not to be missed and the little lakes shine with jewel like brilliance. Who knew colours like that could occur in nature? After an extended snack stop (and a little wade in the cold water by Justin) we made our way back down to the trail head. Some of the group took the shorter route back the way we came while the members accompanied by dogs and a couple of others took the longer but easier fire road down.

A few of us decided to head into downtown Canmore to have an ice cream cone since it was still very early. But we still made it back to Calgary by 2:00PM.

Thanks again everyone!

Rhonda, Michelle and Angela
