Trip Log

Notes Actions
Miracle Fruit is an interesting fruit from Africa which, after eating it, makes sour foods taste sweet. Effects last for about one hour and vary by individual.

Join us to experience the phenomenon for yourself. Unfortunately, we're not able to get fresh Miracle Fruit (it has an extremely short shelf life), but your coordinator has purchased some "Miracle Fruities" tablets which are made from dried miracle fruit and have the same effect. Place one tablet in your mouth and gently swirl it around with your tongue until dissolved. Once you have consumed your Miracle Fruit, the tasting can begin!

From Taste Trippin' with Miracle Berries, "Miracle Berries are a West African fruit with the unusual property of making sour and bitter foods taste sweet. It’s unknown exactly how the process works, but an active glycoprotein binds to bitter and sour taste receptors on your tongue, temporarily disabling them. This allows you to taste food in a completely different way. Lemons taste like lemonaid, blackberries taste like candy, and Guinness tastes like chocolate milk."

This was our first-ever time trying Miracle Fruit, and it was a lot of fun! "Miracle Fruit is an interesting fruit from Africa which, after eating it, makes sour foods taste sweet. Effects last for about one hour and vary by individual."

Seven adventurous folk gathered at our place this evening, bringing an amazing assortment of goodies. We sampled many of the goodies as a "before" tasting, then we ate our Miracle Fruit tablets, then we sampled everything again, with very interesting results.
