GlobalFest's Cultural Pavilions offer audiences a feast for the senses – traditional cuisine, live performances, heritage dress, displays, arts and crafts, and more!. The Calgary Mexican Cultural Society will be bringing four professional dancers to join a 5 year all Traditional Folk dance group formed in Calgary. From previous years I can tell you that for only $5 dollars visitor fell like being deep in Mexico's territory, enjoying the still not so-known traditional music, dances and food of Mexico and of course you can enjoy some Margaritas if you like. We will be visiting other 2 pavillions as well. People can choose to visit individual pavillions or move as a group from to all 3 pavilions.

Mexico Lindo (6:00PM) and Tryzub's Ukranian (8:00PM) Pavilion People can join for individual Pavillions, days or all four visits. Some carpooling can be organized at each pavillion especially if you decided to have some drinks.

More information about Global Fest can be found at www.globalfest.ca

Please make a payment at the event or pre-purchase at any Calgary Co-Op or online at www.globalfest.ca. The money for tickets sold at the Pavillions will go directly to help the association organizing the pavillion. I can hold 10 tickets for the Mexican pavilion only until after 10 min after the meeting time.
Thank you everyone for attending this event. The Mexican Pavillion offered a media presentation of each region¡¯s history and cultural influences of the dances performed on the stage. This helped guests understand better the background of each dance which included some pre-hispanic pieces rarely seen in the city. Very colorful customs, upbeat musical and a lot of footwork from the dancers. It was all finished with a Carnival party. To put some more excitement to the event we had to go on the run for the next Pavillion. We all made it on time and even have a chance to enjoy some food and drinks before the Ukrainian show. We saw there gorgeous customs and very artistic dances. A Coral group and traditional music very nicely executed followed. To end a great night we have the final performance where dancers fly in great acrobatic movements marked by music. For those of us who enjoy traditional music and dance this was a very delightful experience. For only $10 we saw two very professional shows and helped support hardworking cultural communities in Calgary. If you read this before Global Fest is over I would think that everyone that attended this event will recommend any of these Pavillions to visit. If not, look for them next year.
