I was recently introduced to an authentic, fresh food, great services but most importantly is the price for a Sushi house. Sushi bar Zipang is tucked away in a much sought after neighbourhood in Calgary with great ambience that portrays the owners pride in the food and its origin. It is a small place that people generally would probably miss it should you try to look them up in the restaurant "talk about" world however I think it is more of a best keep secret by people whom enjoyed the place and not wishing it become too busy that regulars like myself will not able to drop by often.
From the first entrance into Zipang, you will be greeted by a very friendly and traditional team whom really cater and make you feel relaxed. The tasting menu included your traditional Nigiri -sushi & Sashimi collection prices range from $1.20 - $3.50 /per piece, combo at $9 - $22 and varieties of noodles and donburi including a good selection of cooked food for those first timer. A favourite which is not on the menu is "Spicy Salmon sashimi" which the chef recreate with a twist to my delight and garnish with cucumber and the prices $5 / per dish.
