In 1997, Warren had "flight benefits" so we could fly for quite cheap. We were trying to plan a vacation, but he had no ideas, and I had few, so finally I made an executive decision - we would go to Newfoundland, and do a road tour to visit as many of the places as possible mentioned in the Arrogant Worms' song "A Night on Dildo". Lyrics.

Most of the photos and information related to this trip have been lost. In fact, I don't even know for sure that it happened in 1997. The only evidence for it being in 1997 is a photo from a camera that looks like it had defaulted to January 1997. Verrry questionable.

Anyway, what I do remember is that we:
  • Flew in to St. John's
  • Visited Quidi Vidi, Blackhead and Ferryland
  • Visited Dildo (but didn't spend a night)
  • Took a look at Gander
  • Saw Woody Point and Come By Chance and maybe Blow-Me-Down (I don't remember)
  • Missed Joe Batt's Arm because it would have taken too long to get there
  • Visited Gros Morne and Cow Head (moo)
  • Flew out of Deer Lake
