Drain Removal
Homecare stopped in to remove the remaining drains. One of the ones from the left was really freaky - it snaked all the way across my body and looped around. There was a LOT of tube inside of me. It's great to have it removed - I think some of the tightness on my chest, and the weird "cord" feeling things were all that drain!

So, I got my pathology results yesterday. The cancer has spread into my lymph system, so I'll be signing up for more of a fight than I was hoping for. According to the AHS roadmap, I will see an oncologist in 6-10 weeks, which is quite a long wait, but it might afford me the ability to still volunteer at the Fringe this summer. We'll see.

Drains are all out. One of them was freakishly long - coiled up inside me. There was more than a foot of tube inside. Creepy as **insert profanity of your choice here**. I’m wearing a t-shirt! Yay! And the Klingon forehead and Cardassian face are gone - it was all drain tubes!
Rhandom for Rhandom Scheuer - Poem from Scott Alderson:
Worst news arrives with snow
another May day they say
but who are they?
and who invited them to speak?
we laugh on big decks
eat Teen burgers and Mozza's
talk about everything

My friend faces obstacles
uncertain outcomes
as if life was predetermined
we all stumble sometimes
like when the Neurologist
sat me down and dropped
life changing diagnosis
prognosis not pleasant

My friend wears bravery
like a thrift store suit
takes microwave popcorn
to her x-ray appointment
pop, pop, pop
teasing technicians
with a smile on her face
distraction reaction

Returned from Mexico
returned her breasts
difficult decisions decided
wish her all the best
with futures open wide
soon Sunny skies
we who call her friend
clap hands as she takes the stage.
