Bed and Breakfast | April Cottage | Harman's Cross | $416.00 |
Pre-paid
Incl breakfast Three nights. $139/night. April Cottage is an exceptionally beautiful property. The home is beautiful, the garden is beautiful, the whole setting is beautiful. Before our arrival, Peter helped me plan our multi-legged journey to get there. He keyed in immediately to our activity preferences and offered fantastic advice for walks and destinations in the area, including lending us his great Explorer map of the area. The breakfasts he prepares are amazing - delicious, nutritious and beautifully presented. This is probably the nicest place I've ever stayed in my life. |

Beth brought her flute along, so this evening we did a "round robin" talent show, with Beth playing lovely tunes (mostly English folk tunes on her flute), Brent tooting out a few remembered songs on his recorder, and me filling in the blanks with some low-brow ukulele tunes. My favorite was when I played "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" and Beth played along! How fun! | |
Essential gear: Slips of paper and a pen. Every day, I get the details of any transportation, accommodation, or any other key information we need for the day (or the next couple of days) off the internet and write them onto a slip of paper. Sometimes I also take screen shots of the information, and screen shots of Google Maps, and store them on the hard drive. If we can't get onto internet (which is common), we have all the information we need. |

Walking to April Cottage
Our respective journeys today had so many points of possible failure it's amazing that we made it to April Cottage at all, nevermind right on time and according to plan. Wow. -
Sneak peek of Corfe Castle
Part of our journey involved a transfer at Corfe Castle and it is just as cool as I remember it! We can't wait to visit again tomorrow and spend more time exploring. -
Dinner in the garden at April Cottage
April Cottage is seriously the nicest place I've ever stayed. If you take every Homo Sapiens that has ever lived, I bet less than 1% has ever experienced something so idyllic.
