There's a lot to be said for doing your hike early in the morning - namely breakfast and beer! That's right... three of us went to Kilkenny after our hike, and made it there before their breakfast cut-off at 2:00, so we were able to have beer and breakfast! :) The weather in Calgary the past couple days was miserable, with a biting cold wind, but Witchypoo triumphed again for this hike. Although it was somewhat chilly, the biting cold wind was gone, and it was a beautiful day and a beautiful hike. There was a lot of snow on the trail, almost all the way up, but unlike a couple weeks ago, there was no ice, so even the footwear-challenged on the trip made it to the top. Heading down, we exchanged insults with Glenn and Susan's group who were one hour behind us. We thought that we were the early group and they were the smart group, until we had breakfast and beer, and realized that we, in fact, were the SMART group! -- Rhonda |
