We got off to a bit of a slow start this morning when we started down the trail and everything looked so different due to the spring flooding and lots of work and changes done by BayMag that it took us (ok, me) a while to figure out exactly where our trail was. We detoured briefly up a false branch, then continued on up the gravel road. Just as we (ok, I) were deciding that we'd gone too far and the false branch must have been the right trail, Joel went on up ahead just a few meters and found our right trailhead. From there, the trail was as straightforward as ever, although certainly changed from the flooding. It was a wondermous day out in the canyon, with sunny skies, warm temperatures, a beautifully icy canyon, and the hoodoo and cave to end the trail, as per usual. Most of us finished off the day at Kilkenny where we encountered some dog rompers and x-c skiers, then some of us moved on to Cineplex Odeon at Crowfoot where we watched "Rumor Has It", which some of us enjoyed and some of us thought... "meh". Oh, and "Princess Shelley" got her nickname. hehe... -- Rhonda |
