What an amazing day!!! We trooped up the Yamnuska hiking trail in the muck and a smidgen of ice, and stopped for our lunch just as we reached the cliff. Ryan got extremely lucky and found his diamond earring after dropping it in the alpine shrubbery while donning his climbing helmet. Moving along, we traversed in front of the cliff, with a few hair-raising moments at some steeper/icier parts. We found the "official" place for running the scree that hooks up directly onto the return path, and a few of us took that back, while a few pressed on looking for just a few more moments of scree bliss before bush-whacking their way back to the parking lot. It was great to see every face just glowing as people reached the bottom of that scree slope - it is such a fun experience. -- Rhonda |
