Ptarmigan Cirque - Dawdlers and Slowpokes

With winds in Kananaskis clocked at 188 kph this morning, there was a bit of trepidation about whether we should go at all this morning, but I convinced the group that we'd head out and ask the info center guy what trail he would recommend for the day's conditions. He recommended Elbow Lake (and beyond), so that's what we did, and it was fantastic! Just past the lake there's a large open valley where we got some wind, but for the most part, the day was sparkly and beautiful.

It was Penny's birthday today (happy birthday Penny), and her pal Claire brought along a small birthday cake to celebrate, which was very nice. A COC tradition! :)

It was a lot of fun hiking with Penny from Australia and Claire and Cormac from Ireland today. We're so international.
