Arusha Action Film Series #5 - The Great Warming

Premiering the feature film The Great Warming on Wednesday, March 15 at 7PM at the Uptown Theatre (612 8 Ave SW). $10, 100% Calgary Dollars accepted. Tickets available at the Arusha Centre, Sunnyside Market and at the door. Action Films screenings are the third Wednesday of every month.

We are living at the dawn of a new epoch. Year by year, degree by degree, Earth is growing warmer... a legacy of the Industrial Revolution, population growth, and our addiction to technology, speed and power. Just as other generations spoke of a Great Plague and a Great Depression, our children will be compelled to endure The Great Warming - and find a way to conquer its consequences.

Filmed in eight countries on four continents, endorsed by dozens of the world's leading scientists, this 90 minute film is the most factually accurate, visually stunning and wide-ranging production ever mounted about this complex, fascinating subject. Acknowledged as "the best film about global warming ever shot", the film taps into a growing groundswell of public interest to present an emotional, accurate picture of our children's planet. Narrated by Alanis Morissette & Keanu Reeves.

This event will also screen locally produced movie Big Bow Float that looks at the local community group Bow Riverkeeper and their mission to protect, conserve, and improve the health of the Bow River watershed and all the communities that depend on it.
