Now THAT'S a hike. 18 kilometers of WOW!!! It totally made up for "Too Long Valley" (aka Paradise Valley) from Tuesday.

From Moraine Lake, you switchback up and up, above the lake. Then, the trail is quite flat as you head deeper into the mountains. As you emerge from the trees after about 5km (total so far), you have a great view of the valley, and then the three tiny bodies of water, the largest of which has the honor of being named Eiffel Lake. We had a snack at Eiffel Lake, and then continued around the end of the valley (still flat), and then switchbacked up Wenkchemna Pass, which was a very interesting and enjoyable climb, and then.... you reach the top of the pass, and my favorite part... you get a whole NEW set of beautiful mountains to ooh and aahh over!! Lunch at the top, then back down through the ORIGINAL set of beautiful mountains - I love pass hikes. Some of us had a great butt slide down a patch of snow part of the way. To Louise for ice cream. A perfect day.
