2005-03-12 : COC - Diamond T Hike
We had a somewhat confused start to the day, but it all worked out in the end. A couple of cars took a wrong turn on the way to the trailhead, so by the time they arrived, Ed's group had already arrived as well. The two groups were scheduled to do the same hike - the Sulphur Springs/Riverview loop. Due to weather (and wimpy coordinator) conditions, I decided that I would take a group to do Diamond T instead, which is a really great 4km loop with a bit of scenery and three fairly big hills that make you feel like you still got your workout. About half of my group abandoned us and joined Ed to do the longer Sulphur Springs hike, and it sounds like they had a great time.

The remaining nine hiked Diamond T, and then went to the Cinnamon Bun place in Bragg Creek after for coffee and snacks. :)

2005-03-25 : COC - Watridge Lake and Karst Spring
What a great way to spend Good Friday! A very large group out today to snow shoe in to Watridge Lake and then up to Karst Spring. There was some fresh snow from this week, and the temperature was really mild. We had several guests from Chicago join us for the day (with Jordin), all "Ultimate Frisbee" players - they brought along their frisbee and played a very entertaining game on Watridge Lake (without removing their snow shoes, incidentally).

The spring itself was gorgeous with the bright green moss and fresh white snow for contrast. The trail up to the spring was quite icy, so many people went up the very more icy way, and some of us chose the very less icy way, including the very more steeper section. Buzz earned himself a new nickname - "Sparkles" - as he and Manon frolicked in the snow.

On to our favorite K-place for refreshments and more stimulating conversation (we're thinking of making our carpools events all their own... there's no telling what can happen!).

2005-04-03 : COC - Prairie Mountain
A beautiful, beautiful day - warm and mild, and not even brutally windy up on the ridge! Lots (and I mean LOTS) of snow on the trail - good surfin' on the way down. Definitely better with Icers. Icers rock!
